Snow in UK..!! Unprecedented snow causes chaos in Derbyshire, England
Derbyshire County Council confirmed that the A54 Cat and Fiddle road, the A53 Axe Edge between Buxton and Leek, and the A6024 Holme Moss from Crowden to Holmfirth are now open.
The area from Buxton to Newhaven was the worst hit, and crews have been ploughing roads overnight to keep key routes open.
According to travel monitoring website Inrix, the A515 at Newhaven is impassable due to snow between the A5012 and B5056.

Tariffs Pause: China is reaching out to other nations as the U.S. layers on more tariffs in what appears to be an attempt to form a united front to compel Washington to retreat. Days into the effort, it’s meeting only partial success with many countries unwilling to ally with the main target of President Donald Trump’s trade war.
Facing the cratering of global markets, Trump on Wednesday backed off his tariffs on most nations for 90 days, saying countries were lining up to negotiate more favorable conditions.

Amazon sellers are reeling amid Trump's 125% tariffs on Chinese goods, telling CNBC they will need to raise prices and could go out of business. Up to 70% of goods on Amazon are imported from China. Seven of the eight U.S.-based Amazon sellers CNBC talked to said that manufacturing in the U.S. isn't financially possible, despite tariffs. One positive: Trump did close a loophole that was helping direct-from-China sellers on Temu and Shein undercut U.S. seller prices. The "de minimis" exemption that allowed goods under $800 to avoid all taxes and duties will end on May 2.
Update: On April 10, 2025, the White House clarified to CNBC that tariffs on imports from China now effectively total 145%.
