So when my mom and I were figuring out where to go for our trip at the end of the summer, Belgium really stood out for its picturesque architecture and fairytale vibes. We’ve vowed not to stop telling you about cities in England. In this video, this time, it’s the turn of the attention-grabbing city of Nottingham. We’re discussing a county town and unitary authority area in Nottinghamshire. This city in East Midlands is located 180 kilometers northwest of London, 53 kilometers southeast of Sheffield, and 72 kilometers northeast of Birmingham. It has links to the global legend of Robin Hood and to the historical lace-making, bicycle, and tobacco industries. In recent years, it’s been constantly featured in the media for the wrong reasons which are connected to poverty and deprivation. Even then, this city is recognized as a tourist destination in England with a relatively high visitor turnout.
Nottingham Before Now
The first credible historical account about Nottingham dates back to the 6th century when it was a minor settlement known as Snottingham or Snott inga ham becoming what we call it today. Perhaps you know that the word “ham” in Anglo-Saxon meant “village” and the word “inga” meant “belonging to” while “Snotta” stood for man. From this, you can deduce the meaning of the ancient name of this city: the village owned by Snotta. Trust word corruption, the name gradually changed to Nottingham. There’s evidence that a settlement existed here before the arrival of the Anglo Saxons in the 7th century.
During the Middle Ages
Early in the 11th century, William the Conqueror built a wooden which was rebuilt in the 12th century to guard Nottingham. The settlement later grew into a township. Later, after the Norman Conquest, its growth was rapid and a new area called the French borough was created between the castle and the old town. But the old town continued to be known as the English borough. By 1155, the king gave Nottingham a charter, a document granting townspeople certain rights during the Middle Ages. About this time, the Nottingham population was around 1,500 and by the 14th century, it had reached 3,000. Nottingham had its mayor in 1284. It became a county corporate in 1449 and gained its first sheriff.
Before and During Industrial Revolution
The first grammar school was founded in Nottingham in 1513. Some 20 years later, Henry VIII closed the leper hostels and the friaries. Robert Smythson built Wollaton Hall in 1588. As was the case in entire England, traditional industries, such as the manufacture of wool, declined in Nottingham. These were replaced by others such as malt making and glassmaking which were booming by the 17th century. Glass which was rare in the Middle Ages then became common.
Of course, much of Nottingham's prosperity during the Industrial Revolution was founded on the textile industry. At some point, the city became an important international center of lace manufacture.

Nottingham has a culture rooted in theaters and cinemas, museums and galleries, and music and entertainment. Let’s tell you about them.

The famous Royal Center in Nottingham encompasses two large-capacity theatres namely the Nottingham Playhouse and the Theatre Royal, and the neighboring Royal Concert Hall.

The American Motors Corporation purchased the Jeep Corporation from Kaiser, a company known at that time for its rugged military trucks; AMC changed its name to AM General Corporation thereafter. (The word “Jeep” has become synonymous with rugged, off-roading trucks, even when not manufactured by that corporation and even though Jeep at that time didn’t even develop for the commercial or civilian market.) Jeep was owned by AM General Corporation from 1970 to 1987, and Jeep’s defense contracts and non-comercial off-roading vehicles shaped American Motors’ offerings. In addition to metropolitan buses and Jeeps, AM General produced the HMMWW, the Humvee C-Series, the M35, the M39, the M809, and the M939 lines of military trucks. By the late 1970s, the M809 series 6x6 trucks, based on a 1949 design, were becoming outdated, obsolete; so a "Product Improvement Package" was developed to rebuild and update the M809 into the M939. It wouldn’t be until 1982, the same year a French automotive manufacturer named Renault acquired a controlling interest in AM General Corporation, that American Motors would begin converting the M809 trucks into the M939 series and M939A1 series, and AM General would continue to manufacture these trucks for the U.S. military forces until 1987. In 1985, the KIA Special Vehicle division of the KIA Motors Coporation got the contract to manufacture the M939, as well as many other military cargo trucks; KIA still produces this same truck to this very day, for use by the American military forces. The early M939 and A1 versions were rebuilds of the old M809s; the A2 version was its own build and therefore used a different engine.

The M939 was a military cargo truck built for rough terrain. Considered as part of the M939 series of vehicles, the M923 - M928 were dropside cargo trucks with no troop seating fitted; the M929 and M930 were dump trucks with some passenger space; the M931 and M932 were tractor trucks; the M934 and M935 were expansible vans often fitted with communications equipment; the M936 was a rescue tow truck; the M939 - M944 had extra long wheelbases and were mostly meant to carry troops; and the M945 was a bridge transporter. These various military functions had to of course be done on every kind of rugged terrain, with some requiring more offroad capabilities than others. SnowRunner’s ANK MK38 is based on AM General’s M939 and its A1 and A2 versions.

The ANK MK38 is found for free in the NW part of the Pedro Bay map of Alaska, in perfect condition. You can find the highest engine upgrade, the Westline V12 M900, in the White Valley map, and the Raised suspension option in the Pedro Bay map, both in Alaska. The Active and Tuned Custom suspension upgrades are found in the Yukon region; so you’ll have to buy them if you decide to use either of these suspension options in Alaska. This truck uses the Offroad gearbox, and you can find this in various maps or just buy it. The ANK MK38 features Always On diff lock and AWD, has some awesome mudtires, features very good to excellent body balance even with Tuned Custom suspension. It attaches hitch trailers but has no frame add-on options. It is the first truly OFFROAD truck we get, which is the category SnowRunner puts it in; I place this truck in my INDUSTRIAL HEAVY category.

I went on a wild shopping spree through Temu's weirdest tech offerings and boy did I find some gems! From a sketchy "bird watching" device to a vibrating exercise platform, this haul got progressively more bizarre. The highlight might be the streetlight that wasn't quite as advertised - or maybe the eye moisturizing goggles that actually kind of worked?

Both these GPUs came out in 2022 now, but are still MONSTERS. But how does AMD's RX 7900 XTX flagship GPU from then hold up against the RTX 4090 in 2025? More and more games are integrating ray tracing (even required at times) and upscaling has now become a pretty essential part of our gaming experience- FSR 3 wasn't that great before.

A review of the B580 with a Ryzen 5600 pairing at 1080p. I wanted to to test this combo since there are a lot of reports going around at the moment about the B580 struggling on 1080p with many CPUs.
