The legendary lands of Elysium. Among the infinite ocean of clouds rises the tree of peace. At its foot is Alrest, which many call their home. Long ago, the people of this world lived on the branches of the tree of the world with their creator, the Architect. They lived in a prosperous land, where warm rains and the golden sun gave generous harvests. People called this land Elysium. But once people were banished from this paradise. Did they anger their creator? Or something else caused the exile? No one knows the answer. People took refuge in the lower world, but life was hard here, and the population began to decline rapidly. When all hope was lost, the Architect sent his servants, the titans, to save humanity. The survivors built houses on the backs of the titans and lived there for many generations. But now the titans are dying out, and the only chance for salvation is to return to Elysium .
